About Laksa Houze
"Exquisiteness"
is one of the characteristics of Nyonya cuisine. Whether it is ingredients or cooking methods, Nyonya cuisine is more complicated than other dishes, and incorporates the dietary characteristics of the Chinese and Malay races. The taste is concentrated. Fragrant, sweet and sour, slightly spicy. Among them, Nyonya cuisine is the most famous, and the most representative one is the "Laksa" in Malaysia.
𝗟𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘇𝗲 is run by two business partners who met whilst working for an international hotel group, Chef Derrick and Mr Andy. We found that Nyonya Lemak Laksa is a delicious dish and is rarely been found in Penang, Nyonya Laksa Lemak is a Peranakan dish that is well-loved by locals in Malaysia . It consists of thick rice vermicelli noodles swimming in a rich creamy and not too spicy laksa broth, made with a blend of coconut milk, chicken stock and an aromatic spice paste. Besides prawns, tofu puffs are also commonly added to the dish as it easily soaks up the gravy. An absolute comfort food, a bowl of this creamy noodle soup never fails to warm your heart and belly.
And we do love Penang Assam Laksa. Assam Laksa has been drawing tourists to Penang just for a taste. But for Penangites, Assam Laksa is a reminder of home. A spicy, flowery, minty, sweet, sour, fishy noodle soup that has no comparison. Smooth round rice noodles immersed in a broth of a seemingly chaotic mix of spices and flavours, thickened with mackerel fish and sour tamarind peel, and topped with heaps of fresh vegetables and herbs for added texture and color. Finally, a spoonful of sweetened shrimp paste (heh ko sauce).
After non stop effort of research and tasting. We had come out with our best version of Nyonya Laksa Lemak and Penang Assam Laksa. We think that we should introduce this two characteristics of Nyonya cuisine to the market.
